Adriatic Luxury Hotels are ´Best Green Partner³

The Adriatic Luxury Hotels Group has won prestigious recognition as "The best green partner of southeast Europe."

SEE Business Travel & Meetings magazine, which chose the Group, surveyed the partners of internet portals specialized in congress tourism – www.kongresniturizam.com and www.SEEmice.net.

It conducted a survey of 200 hotels in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro during September 2009.

The award is granted to those who contribute to environmental protection in the best way.

SEE said the ALH group endeavoured primarily to be socially responsible by reducing its use of natural resources and emissions of greenhouse gases and by using recycled products.

It added: "In ALH group hotels, great attention is given to recycling. Waste such as glass, PVC packaging, paper and cardboard and PET packaging is collected for recycling, and dangerous waste is disposed of in a prescribed manner via authorized waste collectors. In the hotels Dubrovnik Palace, Bellevue and Excelsior, the use of lighting and air-conditioning in rooms is possible only upon insertion of a magnetic or chip card (key) into a contact reader. After the card is taken out, all the lighting and air-conditioning devices are automatically turned off, which ensures that there will not be unnecessary use of energy when the rooms are not being used. Water consumption is monitored daily."

Adriatic Luxury Hotels Group said: "This award proves that ALH group is trying to be socially responsible, to care for the environment and to use natural resources well."

Adriatic Luxury Hotels is Croatia's leading Hotel Group with five hotels in the city of Dubrovnik and one in Rijeka.
