Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has acquired a villa worth 400,000 Euros in Croatia.
The 23-year-old Croatian national team player has bought the villa in Zadar, the Adriatic coastal city where he was a refugee during the country's war for independence in the 1990s.
Tabloid 24 Sata has reported the football star has acquired the villa in Zadar's Punta Skala area where he used to play football as a young refugee.
"He used to play football with friends in the street here, so he could have bought a villa here from a sense of nostalgia,", an unnamed woman from Punta Skala told the newspaper.
The same source revealed Modric had recently visited the site where the villa was undergoing renovation together with his girlfriend Vanja Bosnic.
